Meet Egg

Egg in all her glory.

If ever there was a dog who likes, nay LOVES, to travel and see the world, it's my lab-pit mix named Egg.  From her humble beginnings as a heartworm-riddled stray dog in rural Sparta, Georgia, she has traveled to sixteen US states, five Major League Baseball parks, countless hiking trails, dog parks, outdoor patios and one movie theater.  She's seen been around.

In traveling with Egg, I've come across a handful of useful websites and blogs that help point you toward dog-friendly attractions and establishments.  Some sites have pointed us toward rewarding dog-human adventures, others have led us to places that only begrudgingly allow even well-behaved dogs.  Often times these sites are basic lists of reportedly "dog-friendly" spots with no details on the human-oriented draws, the level of dog-friendliness, the location's accessibility by foot or automobile or other information that a traveler and his dog would use to plain their trip.

In beginning this blog, it's my hope that in documenting mine and Egg's travels, we can give dog travelers a full picture of the dog-friendly places we visit.  Certainly, the blog will focus on spots that accommodate medium-sized dogs (that's what Egg is) and places where craft beer is served (that's what I do for a living).  At the same time, I try and bring Egg anywhere that'll have her so if she and I agree that something is worth checking out, it'll get posted.

At the very least, the blog will be a travelogue of our adventures so friends and family can keep track of our exploits and so I can revisit our travels.  Looking forward to sharing Egg's travels with others.
